Webmap presents facilities with available coordinates in a spatial view. Use it to orient yourself within a project and locate structures for further inspection. A missing marker does not necessarily mean an upload or viewer is missing: the facility may have no usable coordinates.
The map and its available management controls depend on your project access and role. Customer navigation and measurement controls are distinct from staff layer and coordinate-import tools.
Find structures on the map
- Confirm the Workspace in the Portal header and open Webmap.
- Choose Project and, if needed, Phase.
- Enter identifying text in Search.
- Choose Refresh to load the filtered structures.
- Read the feedback showing structures loaded and any records skipped for missing coordinates.
- Use map zoom and reset-orientation controls to inspect the project area.
Clear a restrictive search or phase filter before concluding that a structure is unavailable. Check the Viewers list for a facility that is not plotted on the map.
Use basemaps, layers, and measurements
Basemaps changes the map background. Layers controls the available overlays, and Legend explains the visible symbols. Adjust these controls when a marker or layer is difficult to distinguish from the background.
Measure Distance and Measure Area support spatial review in the map. Follow the active tool's prompts to place the required points. A map measurement and a model measurement use different representations; do not treat them as interchangeable inspection records.
If the map becomes confusing after rotating or changing layers, reset orientation and simplify the visible layers before continuing.
Investigate missing locations
Use Missing GPS Only when you need to identify facilities without location information. Compare the map's skipped count with the project records. A processed model or video can be available even when the facility has no map coordinates.
- Confirm workspace, project, and phase.
- Clear unrelated search filters and refresh.
- Check the missing-coordinate feedback.
- Find the facility in Viewers and inspect its location indicator.
- Ask authorized staff to review location data if the structure should appear on the map.
Get help with map data
If coordinates, imported layers, or map references need correction, contact the staff member responsible for project GIS data. Include the workspace, project, filter state, affected layer or facility, and visible message. Layer access can depend on a separate ArcGIS sign-in; Portal access alone does not grant permission to every external map service.
When reporting a map problem, explain whether the structure appears in Viewers, whether the map reports missing coordinates, and whether the issue affects one layer or the entire map. This helps the team distinguish missing project data from a map-loading or external-service issue.
