Saved screenshots turn a viewer position into reusable inspection evidence. They are associated with the file, so video and model tools can use the same saved capture list. A preview is not saved until you choose Save.
Creating, editing, deleting, or downloading evidence depends on your account and viewing context. Shared viewers are read-only, and trial accounts have additional restrictions. Use only the controls available to your account.
Capture the view
- Confirm the facility before recording evidence.
- For a model, open Capture and position the model. For video, pause at the required time and open Tools > Screenshots.
- Adjust angle and zoom so the feature is clear. Wait for model loading or video seeking to finish.
- Choose Capture Screenshot.
- Inspect the preview for the intended feature, orientation, and sufficient detail.
- Choose Discard if the preview is unsuitable, then reposition and capture again.
Capturing a viewpoint does not add a model measurement automatically. If a dimension is part of the evidence, create a saved measurement and link it explicitly.
Describe and save the evidence
Enter a concise Label that identifies the feature or observation. Add clock positions and Video Location when applicable. Avoid a generic label such as 'image 1' when another reviewer will need to distinguish many captures.
Where measurement fields are offered, select the saved result that belongs with the image. Check the feature and units rather than linking by list position alone. A capture can have Measurement 1 and Measurement 2 links.
- Review the label and optional metadata.
- Check the selected measurement links, if any.
- Choose Save.
- Confirm the new capture appears under Saved Captures or the video screenshot list.
Only leave the facility after confirming the save. If an error appears, record the message; the preview alone does not prove the server has stored the capture.
Review, edit, and download
Use the saved list to enlarge a capture and check the evidence. When permitted, the item's controls allow label or metadata edits, download, and deletion. Verify the specific capture before deleting it because other inspection records may refer to that evidence.
Download All Screenshots retrieves the saved evidence for the current file when allowed. For broader delivery, Observations in a viewer package can include screenshots and measurement CSV. Confirm the facility and package scope before downloading.
A missing screenshot in one viewer is a reason to check the selected file first. Two facilities that look similar still have separate evidence records.
Troubleshooting capture and links
- Canvas not ready: wait for the model or video scene to finish loading.
- Video capture failed: play briefly, pause, and capture again.
- Preview is black or incomplete: inspect the live output and wait for the requested frame before retrying.
- Measurement selector is empty: save a model measurement for the same file first.
- Save or edit unavailable: check share, trial, and workspace permissions.
- Changes seem stale: reopen the saved list or refresh after confirming the save result.
